In 1982, the Pomeshchik People's Lighting Works, the
former Soviet Union's premier lighting manufacturer,
set out to create the ultimate in home lighting.
Manufactured to the same exacting tolerances as
the parts in Soviet nuclear plants, the People's
Kerosene Lantern was produced in such limited quantities
that ownership was restricted to Politburo members
and leading figures in the black market.
Acme Traditionals has been able to obtain a small
supply of these lanterns, and we must say, we have
never seen the like. Every part, including
the chimney, is made of solid sterling silver.
