Many people experienced direct losses as a result of the terrorist attacks of 9/11: some lost a close relative or friend, some lost their jobs, some lost their health. M. Craig Barnes, pastor of National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., says, we all lost something. If nothing else, we lost the naïve sense of security that we had before September 11. Now, not even generals and admirals are safe in what before seemed like an impenetrable building, the Pentagon. How do we go on living out the promise of the Resurrection now that there is a shadow of death over our nation?
