The SIT-A-ROUND ball chair is a patented dynamic seating design for the workplace or home office. The use of a large inflated vinyl ball as the seat of the chair is based on the principle of active sitting.
The SIT-A-ROUND ball chair has several features that make it easy to use while providing stability, including a height adjustment mechanism, swivel capability and braking casters for safety.
Helps reduce body stress by:
►Releasing spinal pressure
► Strengthening muscles
► Encouraging spinal alignment
► Increasing circulation and energy
The SIT-A-ROUND ball chair supports the weight of the pelvis and facilitates the proper use of the sit bones, encouraging an easeful distribution of weight. The inflated ball seat sends a continual subtle message to "move up" which keeps the spine from slumping in a "C" curve. The ball responds individually to the weight and body movement of each user. Tension is released throughout the shoulders and back. This is an ideal alternative chair for people whose work involves long periods of sitting.
How is the SIT-A-Round Ball Chair constructed?
The frame of the chair is designed around a flexible vinyl ball. The ball chair has several features that make it easy to use while providing stability, including a height adjustment mechanism, swivel capability and braking casters.
Simple assembly. The seat frame/vinyl ball mechanism is placed on the pneumatic lift. Inflate ball using included pump until you find your comfort level. Place cloth cover over ball seat.
How to sit on the SIT-A-ROUND Ball Chair
Sit directly on the top of the ball. The ball should feel secure under you. The chair should be high enough to place the thighs in a sloping position (as opposed to being at right angles). Adjust the height so that the knees are lower than the hip sockets, with both feet flat on the floor. Your feet should be a comfortable distance apart. Move back and forth on the ball to find the spot that is most comfortable for you. Move side-to-side a little to get used to the movement of the ball.
The process of active sitting utilizes a new set of muscles. It is, in fact, a toning device. As with using muscles in any new activity. It is important to build up your strength gradually. Don't sit for extended periods in the beginning to avoid muscle tension. It is recommended the chair be used one hour or less for the first day, and then add an hour for every additional day for the first week. Note: It is very important to take frequent breaks to give your muscles and eyes a chance to rest. Get up off the ball. Move around and stretch your upper body.
Safety Feature: Braking Casters with the stability of a glide and mobility of a Caster. When operator weight is on the chair the wheels lock. With no weight, it is easy to move the chair from station to station
