In either case, both models require a total of three filters and these three filters need to be changed every six months. The Model 501 and Model 601 use three standard HEPASilent™ filters made of polypropylene (traps particles) and activated carbon (removes odors and gases), or three enhanced Smokestop HEPASilent™ filters made of polypropylene (with equal particle efficiency), including more activated carbon for better smoke and gas removal.
