The saga of the Establishments Clement Faugier, or how two families bound their history to that of the sweet chestnut ardéchoise.
It is in 1882 whereas the local economy ardéchoise in the breeding of the silkworm passes through a crisis due to an epidemic, that Clément Faugier, young man of the soil, creates in Privas the first Frozen Chestnut factory.
With a gastronomical tradition, it combines the innovation and the audacity, thus carrying out the industrial production of Chestnut Frozen while preserving qualities of an artisanal know-how.
The history of the Establishments Clement Faugier will merge with that of chestnut. The transmission of know-how was perpetuated by the children, in particular Charles Faugier “main confectioner” whose son, Jean, will be combined with the Boiron family, principal chestnut supplier.
Since 1970, Claude Boiron and today his son Jean-David Boiron govern the destiny of the company, perennializing the tradition founded by Clément FAUGIER.
Thus binding the two ends of the chain, sweet chestnut and chestnut of quality to a respectful manufacture of the traditions, the Establishments Clement Faugier tell today a made history of passion and constancy, where the meeting of two practical professional, like personal destinies, are combined perfectly.
