  • Whirlpool
    • 4396710B, 2260538
    • T1RFWB2, T1WB2, T1WB2L, T1RFKB1, T1KB1

  • KitchenAid
    • 4396711

(Some Kenmore fridges are made by Whirlpool)

Looking to save a little money?

You can downgrade from any of the above filter part numbers to the PUR Deluxe Filter (4396841).

The 4396710 Filter removes the following impurities from your drinking water:

As with all built-in refrigerator water filters, the 4396710 does not remove Fluoride

The 4396710 cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53

The Refrigerator Ice & Water Filter #4396710 should be replaced every 6 months or when the "change filter" light comes on - whichever comes first.

Installing your new water filter:

  1. Press the button to the left of the filter to release it
  2. Pull the filter straight out (don't worry, the water will shut off automatically)
  3. Remove the reusable color-keyed cap from the end
  4. Discard the old filter
  5. Twist the cap onto the end of the new filter
  6. Push the new filter straight in until it "clicks" into place
  7. Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)

Resetting your "change filter" light:

  • Press the light switch (the one that the refrigerator door presses every time you close the door) 5 times within 10 seconds.
  • OR

  • If the fridge has a filter button, press and hold it for 5-10 seconds.

There's nothing in the 4396710 filter that can go bad, so it has No Expiration Date... It can live on your shelf for years.

For that reason, it makes sense to Buy In Bulk... You pay less money per filter, and we pay for shipping!

Gary Brown - FridgeFilters Customer Service Manager

"I need a black water filter, but the one on your web site is white… can I get the black one instead?"

The first time I got this question, I thought to myself… aren’t these base-grille water filters complicated enough? Now we have to start stocking them in black, white, gray, purple, green… where does it end?

Then it hit me… the knob! The customer was talking about the little plastic knob that slides onto the end of the filter. You know, the fancy color-matched knob that helps the ugly filter blend in with the rest of the refrigerator grille. They thought the knob was actually part of the filter, not realizing that all they had to do was slide it off the old filter, and onto the new one. Ahh… I wish they could all be that easy.
