From the February 2008 issue of Casual Living

Comprising more than half of the $5.8 billion outdoor market, retail sales for grills increased 5.8% last year, hitting $3.2 billion. This analysis compares and contrasts households purchasing grills and fire pits at specialty stores with those buying at discount department stores and home improvement stores..

This exclusive consumer analysis is based on the responses of 2,508 households to a survey conducted in March 2007. Casual Living had New York-based TNS poll U.S. households using an online survey to examine outdoor home furnishing and grill shopping and purchasing patterns. All respondents are homeowners and have household incomes of $75,000 or more.
