ALEXIS SEEPO has traveled to the far corners of the earth studying mysticism, indigenous cultures, ancient and modern myths, legends, and media. Her search led to the creation of GYPSY RENAISSANCE over 25 years ago.

For Alexis Seepo, the Renaissance was a time of infinite splendor and accomplishment; a time when mankind experienced a rebirth of intellectual, cultural and artistic grandeur. Her extraordinary masks reflect a rebirth of freedom in artistic creativity and expression. The artist believes that masks, recognized by historians as being among the earliest phenomena created by man, allow us to reveal or hide our true nature, shape our destiny and indulge our fantasies. Masks are a tool to gain access to the Dreamtime of the unconscious mind.
