The panels in this image are from the west side of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall denoting that most of the soldiers in Vietnam were from the Western Hemisphere. The eagle is flying west - back home.

This is an American Bald Eagle coming out of the Vietnam Wall. The vapor trails behind the Eagle are the Campaign ribbons from Vietnam, He is flying East to West-he is coming home and in his claws is the Purple Heart ribbon. Inside the wall is the American Flag. This is about freedom and FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. A powerful image.The eagle is a composite of all the names, all the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen whose names are listed on the wall.

The eagle has always been a symbol of power and majesty, if you have ever been lucky enough to see one in the wild, you understand why it is our national symbol.

There is no greater way of honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country than to show the world who and what they truly are - A Gathering of Eagles.
