Jim Burris has been riding and drawing for years.
His high school stories of being asked to leave english and math
class for drawing are wonderful! His recent work embraces just
that.....drawing....motorcyles and cars.... then painted in watercolor.
His work clearly exhibits passion not only for the motorcycles
and cars but for light, shadows, color and movement.
Jim studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts
and Tufts University, Boston. Following his formal training,
he traveled more than 30,000 miles on his motorcycle to
experience, first-hand, multi-cultual influences on the arts.
His experiences stretched from African drumming in Key West
to painting on Canyon Road in Santa Fe to black and white
photography in the Black Hills of South Dakota. After two
years of delving into this countries vast array of art, he found
himself in Naples, Florida. Finding that town's acceptance of art
endearing, Jim decided to call it home.
Living in Naples for a little over three years has brought him to
the point of painting several commissioned pieces and pursuing his
own style of watercolor painting.
