Works are judged on originality, composition, and technical merit. We’re looking for works inspired by the artist’s own imagination! Please do not submit work that was completed as part of a directed group project aimed at a specific outcome (Don’t hesitate to contact us at 607.257.7954 with any questions regarding this requirement.).

While the original piece can be any size, please keep in mind that the reproductions featured in Art Bars range in dimension from only 1.5 inches to 3.5 inches for length or width. Pieces should translate well to this tiny format! Works in color generally reproduce better than those in black and white, and words typically do not translate well.

Deadline: Thursday, June 19, 2008

Be sure to include a short statement about the piece (such as why it was created or what the subject matter is) along with the child's name, age, address and phone number. Submissions must be enclosed in an envelope or otherwise covered and protected. No frames, please. Group submissions may be contained in one large closed folder or envelope.

Winners will be notified in June. Chosen artwork may be featured in an exhibition in December, and reproductions of the piece(s) will be included in Art Bars from the opening of the exhibition until the following December.
