We also distribute your CDs to Amazon.com automatically. And just in case you didn't know, Amazon is now manufacturing the CDs they sell - even for the major labels - and your CDs will be a part of that.

As the new model for music distribution unfolds before our eyes, it is more than obvious that mp3 digital downloads are the way not only of the future but the way that millions of music fans all over the world are purchasing their music today. There are a few companies offering digital distribution to recording artists. None of them offer any means of promotion that will help increase the artist's income from downloads except us. We take this very seriously since our artists depend on us to be honest and supportive. We have a personal relationship with all of our artists and we accept the responsibility of championing their music in an effort to ensure a steady stream of income for years to come.


We have distribution deals with 130 download stores, kiosk companies, retail music streaming companies and cellular companies around the world including all iTunes sites - USA, Japan, UK, etc., Rhapsody, MusicMatch, Napster, MSN, Wal-Mart, AOL - and we work feverishly to reinvent this new digital wheel every day so that more and more music fans will purchase our artists' music.

3. Music Publishing:
Now that all artists have figured out that music publishing is the "New Record Deal" - so to speak, everyone wants to get a track in a movie, TV show or commercial on TV. The competition is as intense to get placement as it is to get a deal with a major label. But we've solved that problem to some degree through a partnership with a major publisher in New York who will sign our artists and place their songs in TV shows and films. So if you want to make some cash from publishing, and you have no clue how to get started, then we can certainly help. There's no guarantee here - but we'll certainly do our best.



4. Audio Blogging:
A blog (short for web log), is a simple public website that can be easily updated and is usually formatted in a journal or news style. Anyone can have a blog, and there are many free services available that will provide any internet user with the tools to create their own blog – recent estimates suggest that there are over 5 Million blogs worldwide. Blogging is enormously popular, and the blogging communities are integral players in the promotion and discovery of independent music in the online world and their numbers are growing every day.

"Audio Blogging" is a recent phenomenon, and it involves offering a free download to readers of a blog. Typically, these audio blogs are reviews or sometimes just play-lists posted by music fans, writers, and tastemakers. Allowing your promo tracks to be available to bloggers via our Promonet provides you with a unique opportunity to gain credible, organic exposure and drive more digital sales. Bloggers that sign up for our Promonet are all required to fill out applications that are carefully reviewed, and those that are deemed legitimate get access to your promo tracks on a limited promotional license basis . We will review each blogger's account and site to insure that their intention is to create editorial and promote music.


5. Your songs - sideloaded to Live365 Internet Radio
What we call "Emphasis Tracks" are now being offered to all of the Internet radio stations at Live 365. This can be an amazing opportunity since we now have literal distribution to hundreds of online radio stations.


6. Retail Streaming at 20,000 Locations
We have just struck a deal with PlayNetwork to offer all of your music for licensed streaming in 20,000 retail locations worldwide such as Starbucks, Chili's, TGI Fridays, Ballys Fitness and obviously many more and heard by more than 15 Million people each week with track info displays so that customers will know who they're listening to. This will translate into additional quarterly revenue for all of our artists.


7. Royalties
Most importantly, we believe that the artist deserves the majority of the royalties. We only commission ten percent of what we make for the artist. In addition, we take only $2.00 per CD sold through our site and only $3.25 per CD manufactured and sold by us. We're not trying to get rich off of the talent of our artists. We're just trying to make a difference so that this upside-down music business will some day honor the people who make it all possible. And we're seeing the fruit of our labor right now as some of our artists are making as much as $10,000.00 per year already - and we've only just begun. As we get deeper into our efforts we will see artists making even more than that. Then and only then will we know that we have accomplished our goal, that of making the independent artist truly independent.


8. Income of approximately $0.50 for each of your songs downloaded (amount differs slightly from various sites) Some artists are currently seeing royalties in excess of $3,000.00 per quarter with a growth rate for future income to exceed that amount. Being totally honest here, most artists are not going to make that kind of cash. You may not make enough to pay your rent, but if you don't get your music out there, then why are you even in this business? And you certainly won't know what you can make until your music is everywhere.

Artist royalties are paid quarterly. ItsAboutMusic.com commissions 10% of all download royalties from each artist. There is never another fee to be paid by the artist other than our commission. The worldwide distribution service that services all of the sites for us also takes a 15% commission but the net figure paid to the artist of $.50 per download is inclusive of these commissions. You also get paid for streams from download stores offering streams - like Rhapsody, Napster and more. It may only be one cent per stream but pennies add up.



9. Graphic interface for each artist at ItsAboutMusic.com designed by our graphic designers offering most of what can be done at your own web site - therefore adding immediate one-stop marketing exposure for each artist.



10. Association with the best indie artists - no artist is signed unless they are great at what they do.



11. Video hosting and streaming - also with deep linking to your own web site.



12. Non-exclusive distribution
ItsAboutMusic.com will ask for exclusivity in representing only the music you deliver to us - not your entire catalog unless you give us your entire catalog. Please know that no two companies can digitally distribute one CD since that would result in two copies of that CD being available at all of the download sites - just can't happen. Any artist with only one release will have to terminate any previous distribution deal and allow us to digitally distribute that CD. Also - if an artist has more than one CD release, they can offer selected CDs to other distribution companies. However, since no other company offers promotion to enhance revenues for the artists, it only makes sense for the artist to allow us to distribute all of their music so that other companies will not see increased commissions due to our efforts. Bottom line - the artist "should" allow us to distribute all of their music in order to make the most from our efforts on their behalf and so that we are rewarded for our work.



13. No Contracts to sign except one to specify that the music you are delivering to us will only be distributed digitally by us until you terminate the deal.



14. Exposure to all of the fans of all of the artists at the site - your fans are exposed to other artists' music and their fans are exposed to yours.



15. Perfect Music Files for streaming and downloads - albums remastered for volume and EQ when necessary.



16. References - For artists who have been approved to join the roster at ItsAboutMusic.com, we invite you to contact any of the artists at this site for feedback about our service. Please refrain from doing so until you have been invited to join since it would be unnecessary to contact our artists until such time. You will find links to all of the artists' web sites at their pages here at ItsAboutMusic.com.



17. UPC Codes
We offer our artists the ability to purchase UPC codes at the price of just $25 per code. These UPC codes can be added to your CD art but it's not necessary unless you'll be selling your CDs in stores that require them. Please Note that no album, EP or single can be added to any download store without a UPC code. This is just the way all stores keep track of the music.




What do we ask of the artist once they have joined our roster?

Once the artist has been approved to join us and has either paid the full fee or has begun the payment plan, we ask for 3 copies of all CD releases we represent to be used for digital distribution. At first, we also ask for no more than 6 copies of all releases to be used to fulfill sales orders - unless we will be manufacturing your CDs. We need access to any site where the artist's photos, bio and press quotes are available - or these items can be sent to us via email. Should the artist decide to participate in our CD-on-Demand service, we'll need the artwork that went into manufacturing their CDs initially. If this is not available, we'll do our best to recreate that artwork - or in the case of a new release, we'll create the necessary artwork with your help.


We also ask the artists to place a link at their sites to their artist page at this site so as to direct traffic to us for the purpose of selling their music.




How to pay
If you have already been approved to join our roster, you can use the order buttons below to pay the one-time start-up fee. A payment plan is also offered for any artist who is "financially challenged." If credit cards cannot be used, please contact us and we'll work it out.
