The New Life After the Hospital COUNSELING LEAFLET is designed for one of the most common pastoral situations, the desire to extend an all-to-brief visit. The message focuses providing solace and hope to a hospitalized person and emphasizes the potential for new life in Christ that comes out of both physical and spiritual healing.
Written in first person, it describes in a very pesonal way the varied feelings encountered by a person in the hospital: fear, anxiety, money worries, family concerns, the future, loss of independence, loss of privacy, loneliness, impatience, and inconvenience. Ultimately, the message arrives at a point of trust in God and the love of other persons and focuses on hope for new life: "Now, I can see that God is with me, just as God promised. God has shared my anxieties and concerns, my hurts, my vulnerability, and my unspoken fears. God has vowed to stay with me, inseparably with me, and God has kept that promise."
