This hand made, bronze sculpture is a one-of-a-kind statue, hand cast by the artists of south India.

Special Features:  The beautifully detailed Ganesh sits high on his lotus flower zafu.  Every detail is magnificently carved, his glorious crown, tattoo on his trunk, the godly halo, the cobra belt, his necklace, the goad, Pasam rice ball and tusk he holds in his four hands all have the details one would expect from a lost-wax-method piece.   Both the goad and the pasam are very large and extremely detailed.  In his other two hands he holds his broken tusk and a ball of sweetmeats.

The rat arch is unbelievable; beautifully detailed and unique.  There is a total of 16 rats included in this spectacular arch.  There are 14 rats on the entire arch with two rats eating a mound of sweetmeats on each side of the base.  Each rat has a beautifully carved saddle on its back.  Even the interior of the arch has magnificent floral swirls in it which add to the overwhelming amount of detail in this piece.  The arch is removable from the Ganesh figure.  Rats are seen as being capable of gnawing their way through most things, the rat symbolizes Ganesh's ability to destroy every obstacle, a perfect companion for " Ganesh, The remover of Obstacles".

In sculpture the position of Lord Ganesh's trunk has a symbolic meaning.  If the trunk turns to the Ganesh's left, that is the direction for success in the world.  It is a position associated with grihastas, or householders.  To his right, the trunk represents moksha, good for renouncing the world.  When one chooses a Ganesh sculpture that is proper for their own spiritual path the trunk position is one thing that is good to keep in mind.  Ganesh's trunk is positioned to his left a position associated with grihastas.

Care:  The piece can be used both indoors and outdoors.  Dust the piece regularly.  If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the statue.
