In the Spotlight: New online help pages for Store merchants
We've updated and reorganized the Yahoo! Store Help pages to make it
easier for you to find quick answers to all your questions. Frequently
asked questions are arranged by topic -- you can search all the help
documents by keyword from the "Store Help" search box on any page.
We are updating these help pages on an ongoing basis. Please don't
hesitate to send feedback on specific questions or to share your overall
impression. Let us know if you see errors or omissions. Send feedback to:

Short Take: Store Manager gets a quick facelift
Did you notice a change in the look of the Yahoo! Store Manager? We've
added the Yahoo! Store logo and branding to the Manager interface. The
new "Go" column in the bottom right corner of the Manager makes it easy
to locate the link to your live, "published" web site. We hope you find
the updated interface easier to navigate.
Store Building Tip: Custom buttons create distinctive Store navigation
Looking for an easy way to give your Store navigation a fresh, distinctive
look? Upload your own "Icon" images and create custom buttons for the nav
bar. (The nav bar is the navigation column or "store directory" that
typically appears on the left side of the browser and directs shoppers to
the main sections of your Store).
Go to the Regular or Advanced Editor interface and click on "Variables" in
the toolbar. Scroll down to "Button Properties." The first option is called
"Button-style" - select "Icon" from the drop-down menu and then click on the
"Update" button at the bottom of the page.
Next, go to the main category section's "Edit" screen and upload an image
to the "Icon" property. When you "Publish" your Store, the new nav bar will
consist of distinctive buttons leading to the main sections of your store.
Remember, you need to be in the Regular or Advanced Editor in order to
customize your nav bar buttons.
You can find great ideas and downloads for buttons, backgrounds, bullets,
and more in the "Web Page Graphics" category of the Yahoo! directory.
On the Network: Yahoo! Yellow Pages boosts traffic to your Store
Does your online business have a retail location? List it in Yahoo!
Yellow Pages -- it's a great resource for building awareness of your
Yahoo! Store. Yahoo! Yellow Pages are used for millions of online lookups
daily, much as the local printed Yellow Page directory is used to locate
businesses in your community.
To see if your business address is already listed, go to Yahoo! Yellow Pages, enter the zip code for your location, and
then the name of your business.
All U.S. listings come from databases provided by BellSouth and InfoUSA.
You must contact the database provider directly to add or change a
business listing. Unfortunately, Yahoo! cannot add, edit, or update listings
in the databases.
If your local telephone service provider is:
BellSouth, contact: 888-438-7330
All others, contact InfoUSA: 800-321-0869
If you already have a business listing in Yahoo! Yellow Pages, consider
purchasing an enhanced listing through the "Featured Business" program.
For only $15/month, you gain enhanced placement in the "Featured Businesses"
section of the listing page for your business's location. Your business
will also appear as a bolded entry in the regular alphabetical list.
In addition, you can add important details to your listing page, such as
hours of operation, accepted payment methods, a web link (where applicable),
and more.
