This course describes how to create and manage the physical files in a DB2 UDB database. The course begins by describing the basics of DDS coding and how to create a DDS source member. It then covers how to define a physical file using DDS. Next, the course shows how to use the CRTPF command to create a physical file from DDS, and how to use the CRTSRCPF command to create a source physical file. The course then describes field reference files. It shows how to both create and use a field reference file. The course ends by showing how to perform various management and maintenance tasks on physical files.
