  This showy western wildflower was noted "On the waters of Clark's Bitterroot River, July 4, 1806" during the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Summer-flowering perennial with large yellow blossoms often tinged with red at the throat. Grows 12" high; spread to 48". Requires moist, humus-rich soil, and full sun to light shade.
