1. Product Returns

There is a 20% re-stocking fee on most items which MAY be waived in specific instances of exchange or error on our part

We do NOT accept returns on opened or used products of any kind. It is the customer's responsibility to insure all returning items. Once the item is returned, undamaged, we will credit your card or account for the item less shipping.
Bulk Loaded audio and video tapes are custom loaded and cannot be returned. We will of course replace any defective tapes. Any defects or damages must be reported within 14 days of receipt of order.
2. Return FAQ's
* 1. Do I need an RMA?
Not at this time. Your order number will suffice but please discuss this with a customer service representative BEFORE returning an item.
* 2. Does Pro-Tape pay the return shipping cost for defective merchandise?
No. We do not pay the return shipping cost for product defects because we do not manufacture the products we carry. The customer is solely responsible for shipping any returned product back to us. All related fees (shipping & return shipping fees) are NON-REFUNDABLE for all products under all circumstances. Shipping fee is a fee that is paid to the shipping carrier not to Pro-Tape Systems, therefore shipping fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
* 3. I found one item missing from my order. What should I do?
Please call or email your missing item, also you need to provide us some necessary information that can be found on the invoice with the shipment, such as package size, color of the check mark on your invoice, and sometimes we will require you to fax in the original invoice.
* 4. May I exchange my return item for a different product?
If you would like an exchange, the item(s) returned, need to be unused/unopened and within 14 days. You will also need to include the item code number of the product you would like to receive. If there is a difference in the cost, please provide a payment method for the difference. If you do not include the required information with your return you will be contacted by one of our customer support representatives. A replacement can be made for the same product and same brand (e.g. cd-r, dvd-r, ink cartridge, memory card, etc.).
*All Clearance products (e.g. floppy disks, refurbished items, new items and open-box items) will not be accepted for returns.
* 5. How long does it take for to process a return?
It takes 2-5 business days for us to process and re-ship or issue a refund once we receive the product.
* 6. Will Pro-Tape Systems cross-ship replacement merchandise?
Only if payment for the replacement merchandise is made.
* 7. What's your Software Return Policy?
We do not offer refunds on opened software where the activation code has already been sent to the customer. Unlike physical goods, electronically distributed software and software licenses can be duplicated. Once a license has been issued, it is unfortunately not possible for us to recall all copies. Therefore, we do not accept product returns or exchanges.
* 8. What's your Refund Policy?
You may return most items sold by Pro-Tape Systems within 14 days from the invoice date for a full refund. Some expendable merchandise and hardware may be subject to a restocking fee. Please note that all items returned for a refund must be returned in "as new" condition in the original packaging and include all accessories, blank warranty cards, UPC codes (attached), and user manuals; otherwise the 20% restocking fee may be applied to all returns for a refund if the reason for the return is due to customer error.
*We cannot accept returns of certain items for a refund, including:
i. Any item that is returned after the 14 day grace period.
ii. Any tape, software, DVD movie, video game, or cassette tape that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap). iii. Any item that is not in its original condition, is physically damaged, or is missing parts.
iv. Any DVD or CD media that has been printed on by the customer.
v. Any DVD or CD samplers.
vi. Any photo paper that has been printed on or used.

*Items are priced PER INDIVIDUAL UNIT (not case or carton) unless specifically stated as otherwise. IN-STORE prices may vary from ONLINE prices. Due to our extraordinarily low prices on most mini dv products, only pro media is eligible for free ground shipping.
*NEXT DAY AIR AND ALL EXPEDITED ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 3:00PM CENTRAL TIME OR WE CANNOT GUARANTEE SHIPMENT.
*Credit card orders must ship to an address associated with the card. Please contact your credit card company in advance if you wish to ship to an alternate address otherwise your order may be flagged as possible fraud. Paypal accounts must be confirmed.
*Our shipping calculator does not cover all scenarios such as APO/FPO addresses and some international shipments. We will notify you of any issues concerning your shipment. If you have any concern or special needs (APO/FPO, international discounts), please e-mail or call for a quote!
*Please be aware that charges for international shipping and charges for expedited shipping on items for which we offer free ground shipping only will be added to your order AFTER CHECKOUT. Ground freight charges for items with free ground shipping will be deducted BEFORE your account is charged.
*If you have any concerns, please call or e-mail us with any questions. Texas residents must add sales tax of 6% (8.25% in Austin) unless eligible for an exemption.
