Developed by Samsung in alliance with Hewlett-Packard, the SRP-500 is an economical two-color inkjet point-of-sale receipt printer. Using HP's state-of-the-art inkjet technology, the Samsung SRP-500 POS printer combines high speed, consistent print quality, high reliability and low total cost of ownership.
Inkjet technology offers higher quality printing so your sales tickets will last longer without fading (if you ever need to show them to the taxman years later). Printing at 6.5 lines per second (at 42 columns), the quiet SRP-500 is faster than impact printers (about 50% faster than a dot-matrix printer). Ink dries instantly, preventing any smearing or ink transfer.
With dot matrix printers, you can expect 1-2 million characters per ribbon. But, after as little as 500,000 characters the ribbon may print considerably less dark. Whereas the inkjet prints 7-9 million characters (14-18 million for both cartridges) and the last print is as good as the first. Not to forget less user intervention. Plus, because there is no print head, you essentially replace this every time you put in new cartridges. The cartridges will last many times longer than ribbons.
Retailers will find inkjet printing bright, clear, and crisp. With standard color selections including black, red, blue, or green, the SRP-500 offers enhanced versatility in printing graphic images, logos, coupons, rebates and specials.
Unique among POS ink-jet printers, the SRP-500 features a foolproof drop-and-load paper mechanism. The compact lightweight printer also features an auto cutter, low ink indicator and a paper near end sensor. Available with parallel, serial, or USB interfaces.
