Looking for a fun, interactive, ready-to-go high school recruitment presentation? The Project Management Game is a self contained, self-explanatory presentation suitable for all audiences.
The Project Management Game simulates a work situation in which a project team is given a job that requires them to work with and through others--delegating, training, planning, scheduling, controlling—in short, managing a project. The class is divided into teams, or “companies”. This exercise/presentation puts a premium on the team’s ability to build effective working relations in a short period of time. Each team builds an actual two-dimensional rocket.
The Project Management Game gives participants the opportunity to become actively involved in project competition and pressures. It catches them in the act of being themselves. Later they have the opportunity to look back at the things they did which contributed (or did not contribute) to “effective project work”.
Everything you need to get started and to easily learn the presentation are included: Facilitator Notes, Start Up instructions, Instructions on how to brand the materials for your institution, Debriefing questions, Student take home assessments, Materials to accommodate up to 6 teams of varying size per classroom, Durable carrying case.
