Q: Do you have any suggestions on how one can become a model? Ray M. A: Here are a few suggestions on pursuing a career in modeling: 1. Call some local modeling agencies in your area, and ask them when they have open calls. Be prepared to show at least two pictures of yourself: a head shot and body shot. 2. Gather some photos of yourself and send them to the fashion departments of your favorite magazines as well as modeling agencies in large cities. Most fashion departments cast from agencies in large cities, such as New York City, Milan, Los Angeles, and London; agencies generally have satellite offices in smaller towns throughout the United States that they partner up with. 3. If you are ever in one of the bigger cities, stop by some agencies or call them and drop off color copies or pictures of yourself.
