100 Sub Tabs - Endocrine Nutraceuticals
DHEAgold™ supports all of the tissues that respond to
androgens, and is an antagonist for cortisol and other
glucocorticosteroid hormones. Optimal levels of DHEA, a
natural steroid hormone that is synthesized by the adrenal
glands, support healthy heart function, immune function,
brain function, bone metabolism, blood lipid metabolism,
energy metabolism, the regulation of normal blood sugar
and insulin levels, and the maintenance of lean body
mass. Mood and healthy sexual response is also affected
by proper DHEA function in both men and women.
Supports steroid hormones production as a precursor for estrogens, and testosterone
and other androgens. Increases lean body mass & decreases adipose tissue mass.
Support balanced immune system function. Promotes vitality, sense of well being &
mood. Promotes healthy function of bone, heart, brain, muscles and other androgen
responsive tissues. Enhanced stamina and general strengthening. May use with or
without testosterone to support healthy androgen function.
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is an endogenous hormone (made in the human body), and secreted by
the adrenal glands. DHEA-S is one of the most important hormones produced by the adrenal glands.
When measured, it should always be evaluated in with cortisol another very important adrenal gland
hormone since DHEA and cortisol are synergistic agonists of each other which help balance metabolic
processes in the body, including catabolism and anabolism. Since DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) also
acts as a precursor to testosterone and estrogens and has synergistic action with testosterone and
estrogens, proper DHEA levels are critical for optimal function of those hormones.
DHEA levels in the body begin to decrease after age 30, and are reported to be low in a number of
chronic and acute diseases. DHEA levels may also be depleted by a number of drugs, including insulin,
corticosteroids, opiates, and danazol.
The decline of DHEA levels with aging correlates with a general decline in immunity, increased risk of
autoimmune disease in both genders, decreased psycho-neurological function and an increased risks for
age-related and degenerative diseases affecting brain, heart, bone, lung, and other vital tissues.
Decreased thyroid function is associated with decreased thyroid function, obesity, decreased sex drive
(low libido), chronic fatigue, rheumatological disorders, insomnia, and depression. Low levels have been
reported in some people with anorexia, end-stage kidney disease, type 2 diabetes (non-insulin
dependent diabetes – caused by insulin resistance), adrenal insufficiency, and in the critically ill.
Several studies suggest that DHEA may improve well-being, quality of life, exercise capacity, sex drive,
and hormone levels in people with insufficient adrenal function.
Like all hormones, DHEA should not be taken is excessive dosages. In contrast to a hormone
replacement approach, hormone “supplementation is a safer choice. Excessive DHEA levels have been
associated with cognitive disorders, inhibition of inhibition of IL-12 production (important fro balanced
immune function), inhibition of human erythrocyte G6PD (resulting in increased red cell sensitivity to
oxidant stress), as well as increased risk of breast cancer and insulin resistance in women and increased
centralized adiposity in obese men.
