A.D.H.D., A.D.D., O.D.D. - A personal note
To our hundreds-of-thousands of Stevia list members and customers. I am about to share something so personal with you… It is painful to discuss, but I want to bring you hope. If your child has been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, ODD or other disorders, hang in there. Removing sugar is a wonderful first step.
One of my 5 children was diagnosed with ADHD, ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), among other problems at the young age of barely 5-years-old. Removing all sugars, including fruit juices, helped. We have also tried eliminating many other foods. Some things helped, others did not. Finding the best diet for my children has been a matter of trial-and-error.
Despite changes in diet, changes in parenting, changes in environment, we still put her on medication. Medicating a young child has tormented me! I hated doing it, but if you are familiar with ODD, you probably realize that we medicated her for safety reasons - Both her safety and that of her siblings. Fortunately, a friend of mine shared with me a new treatment for children like mine, neurotherapy.
After a year-and-a-half, my daughter is off of medications. Is life perfect – Heck No! But, things are better. With a combination of diet, parenting, environment, and now neurotherapy, My daughter can be the person she was destined to be.
