JUST RELEASED- NEW TRAINING DVD, BEYOND THE BIT!

Beyond the Bit is a 45 minute DVD that covers several barrel racing bits from a simple explanation to seeing the bit used in action. Choosing the right bit is not as complex as many people make it out to be and Lance Graves breaks it down in a simple to understand fashion and them demonstrates each bit in the arena and at a show. Before you spend $75 on a bit that may or may not work, you may want to spend $25 on this DVD and be sure you really get what you need to get the best out of your barrel horse.

MORE:AQHA World Champion barrel racer Lance Graves receives hundreds of questions each month about bits. Graves said, “Flat out one of the biggest topics of conversation is about bits. Which one is right for me, my horse and my horse’s future. So, I simply went to the barn one day and grabbed up some of my favorites. I called Ryan Dohrn who does my DVD’s and told him to fly out here so we could shoot this DVD and put these questions to rest.” Dohrn did just that and took the project two more steps. First he captured video of Lance demonstrating each bit in his arena at the Graves Ranch then, he followed Graves to a national barrel race to see the bits in action. Dohrn had a unique opportunity to ask Graves questions while he was getting horses ready. Graves commented, “It was a little weird to always have a camera there at the show. But, I knew what Ryan was doing. He really wanted people to see what I go through and how I prepare myself and others before each run. At a show it is not just about me. Most the time I have several clients there as well. So, I am running full tilt from the time the first horse steps foot off the trailer.” This 45 minute DVD is called Beyond the Bit and it is just a starting point for barrel racers searching for biting answers. It covers the o-ring snaffle, correction bits, hackamores and some specialty bits. Dohrn said, “In creating this DVD we did not want to create a 2 hour motion picture. We wanted it to be a very nuts and bolts approach to give people the information they need to try these bits at home. The goal is that a barrel racer will watch the DVD and say, ahh… I get it now. That is how it is supposed to work.”
