  
Membership in the Guild is open to all; there are no
requirements to join – just an interest in learning
about timber framing. All memberships except Lifetime memberships are for one year from the date of enrollment. You will receive a reminder before your membership expires. Read about Membership Benefits. A Guild Scholarship Fund allows us to sponsor apprentices in timber framing. Please consider adding $10 or more to your membership dues.
$35 of your annual membership fee is for your subscription to our quarterly journal, Timber Framing.
Membership is available at these levels:
- Professional: for practicing timber framers or those with a professional connection to the timber framing industry.
- Associate: for individuals not currently engaged
in timber framing.
- Student: for full-time students, we offer a reduced cost membership (to qualify, please fax or send a copy of a current student Id, class schedule, or letter from school). Discounted Group Student Memberships are available. Contact our office for more info.
- International (except Canada): for the additional cost for postage for Guild publications
- Family: Family Members receive individual member benefits, directory listings and member rates at Guild events even if the principal family member cannot attend. The second member receives voting privileges; only one set of Guild publications is sent to the address listed. Family Members must all reside in the same household. Please add the family members' names in the Comments box during the checkout process.

NOTE: To assist the Guild’s Membership Committee in determining the areas of greatest concern to you, our members, we ask you to complete a Member Questionnaire. We appreciate your cooperation.
After you order a membership, there is a way for you to get the password to access the Members Only section of the Web site right away. Follow these instructions:
- On the Order Confirmation screen, click on the red Download Now button and read and follow the instructions there.
- If you missed the Download Now button, you may access it from the Order Status page later (even from a different computer) and download the item. You can always get to the Order Status page using the URL from the Order Confirmation email, or by using the Order Status link at the top of Yahoo! Shopping.
- You must have cookies enabled on your system in order for this to work. Enter the order number, which begins with tfguild-(hypen), and you must also enter your credit card number for security reasons. This will let you download the username and password information.
