Sweet SuccessLana Turner's very colorful career got started at the counter of Currie's Ice Cream Parlor across the street from Hollywood High where she was attending school. Our apologies to Schwab's Drugstore. Her top notch performances in JOHNNY EAGER (1941), SOMEWHERE I'LL FIND YOU (1942) and WEEKEND AT THE WALDORF (1945) were the basis of a wonderful career but the best was yet to come. In 1959 Ms. Turner made IMITATION OF LIFE and proved she had not lost her edge.
Perhaps our favorite quote from Ms. Turner is "A successful man is one who makes more money than a wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man." Now the Hollywood Collection has replicated the stunning diamond ring set in gold that she wore in a publicity photo.
