broadcastGEMs (GEMs being a stylized acronym for Graphic Elements in Motion) has developed high-quality Customizable Royalty-free Animated Backdrops. The company was founded by Creative Cow AE Forum Leader, Roland Kahlenberg, who was also the co-founder of the AE FreeMart.
Following are specs for the AE Pro Series:
1) 22 grayscale backgrounds, 33 animated elements. All rendered at
double-frame rate (59.97fps for NTSC and 50fps for PAL), with square
pixel aspect ratios (720x540 for NTSC and 768x576 for PAL). All have
been rendered to losslessly compressed, to sequential Targas.
2) Approx 40 comps will be provided. These comps will be created using
a combination of the 20 BCKs, 30 Elements, 5 Expressos (see below), and other elements created within AE. Note that no completed backdrops will be provided - this is essentially a Series with building blocks and 40 comps showing folks various ways of combining the included footage. All AEPs were created using the Standard version of 5.5
3) 5 Expressos - these are elements/effects created entirely within AE
using built-in plugins. A Controller Layer (Null Layer) with various
parameter controls is used to control various parameters to affect the
element/effect.
a) Seamless Textures Animator
Allows a user to animate/control the speed, direction, opacity, and
tint of a precomp made up of a series of seamless textures. 20 seamless textures will be provided.
b) Target System
A graphic of a sniper's POV. Includes controls for position, size,
color, opacity and allows for different looks.
c) Reflection
Creates a faux par reflection for a selected layer. Includes controls
for position, scale, opacity, falloff area (fade-out) and color.
d) Panels
Creates Lower 3rds and vertical panels. Includes controls for position,
scale, color, opacity, and falloff area (fade-out).
e) Circular Shapes
Similar to Panels (above) but creates circular shapes. Includes
additional, individual controls for independent x and y scaling.
4) A bunch of FFXs will be created. These will allow users to customize
colors schemes, remove banding, prep final renders for Broadcast Safe
colors, create certain elements and effects.
5) 3 Music pieces will be added. These can be used as is or to create
elements/effects that are affected by the musical piece. Songs will be
provided in .aiff format at 48Khz, 16bit. A couple of comps will make
use of the music pieces to create elements to be used in the sample
comps.
6) MPEG-1 videos (miniaturized) of the 40 comps will be rendered so
that users can view the result of each comp as it is provided. The
MPEG-1 videos will be provided within a HTML document.
