Interactive Noise Plugin
DIN is a fast and flexible noise effect plugin for After Effects 5.5+ and After Effects compatible applications.
Procedural noise is a key tool for making everything from fire to force fields to spectacular transitions.
Power
DIN is a single super-powerful effect plugin. DIN’s wealth of look and animation controls allows DIN to generate a huge veriety of effects.
• 13 noise basis patterns as well as your own custom basis.
• Basis texture size, sharpen, fade, and squeeze parameters.
• Fractal complexity and decay parameters.
• Spin, placement, and jiggle noise animation parameters.
• Control Layer (image control of noises).
• 10 preset looks to help you get started.
DIN’s killer feature is the Control Layer. Control Layers allow you to specify where and how DIN noise effects are applied to your source layer. You can take any source footage or composition and use it to control DIN’s Size, Fade, Grid Align, Jiggle Distance, Rotate Align, or Squeeze amount.
Integration
DIN is designed to integrate well within After Effects and interoperate with After Effects built in effects plugins. Key features are:
• Motion blur support.
• 16 bit color support.
• 8 apply modes including an Alpha Blend mode for transitions.
• Custom shape layers.
DIN plays well with After Effects built in effects. For example, the ripple animation uses animated grayscale DIN output in conjunction with After Effects’ Texturize and Displacement Map to generate a sophisticated raindrop animation.
Acceleration
Even powerful plugins can be useless if they are slow. You simply don’t have time to wait when there is a deadline looming. That is why we made DIN a hardware accelerated plugin. DIN uses cutting edge OpenGL video card features to render its effects. Even complex noise effects render at interactive rates with modern hardware and graphics accelerator.
Warning! DIN requires the latest graphics hardware and drivers to operate. Make sure to download the latest drivers for your graphics card and try the DIN demo to make sure your system can handle the plugin.
DIN SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Windows
• Adobe® After Effects® 5.5 or later*.
• All system requirements needed to run After Effects.
• Microsoft(r) Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
• Video display card with OpenGL hardware acceleration** and the latest drivers***.
Macintosh
• Adobe® After Effects® 5.5 or later*.
• All system requirements needed to run After Effects.
• Mac OS X v.10.3 or later.
• Video display card with OpenGL hardware acceleration** and the latest drivers***.
*DIN has also been tested with Discreet® combustion® 3 under Windows and Macintosh.
**Compatible video cards include the ATI Radeon series and NVIDIA FX series. We highly recommend trying the demo before purchasing to verify that your video card supports the OpenGL hardware acceleration of DIN. The Windows version will NOT run without it. The Macintosh version will attempt to default to software rendering if the video card does not support OpenGL hardware acceleration; OpenGL drivers are still required. (In this case, a note will appear in the About box.)
***OpenGL hardware acceleration requires the latest drivers as DIN takes advantage of the newest features.
