I was born in Africa and came to the US 3 years ago. My hair is naturally black, thick, and very kinky. 7 years prior to relocating to US, I decided to have a perm. Even with the perm my hair remained full, strong, long and wavy.
 
When I got to the US, I started to visit a hair salon where many other women of color frequented and continued to have a perm and treatment. In the first year, I noticed my hair was weakening and thinning out.  By the end of the second year, my hair was so weak and thin that I decided to cut it short leaving just about half an inch of it. I was very sad because I always had long beautiful hair.
 
In April of this year, I came across treasured locks website by chance where I read about natural-laxer mix. Since I was so desperate, I decided to give it a try. Initially I ordered and used two natural-laxer plus kits, then I changed to the natural-laxer mix. My hair has become strong, thick and full once again. I am so proud of this company for catering to the African American in need. There are so many products that have chemical in them. I have never heard of one that does not have one chemical. I have always said that if I could just soften my hair, I would wear it naturally curly.It is a great product. Although it is a little messy to make. It is not a premade product, so it can get a little messy, and it takes about ten minutes for all the herbs to break down, especially the clay. It also feels strange once you begin application, because of how gritty the product is.

At first I did not really notice the difference, but I went to my hairdresser and she had no idea that I had put the product on my hair, and she said wow, your hair sure is taking a nice press today so I told hereabout the product. She said she wants to try it on some of her customers. I am now wearing my hair curly and I love it.

I think it is a good product. Whether you wear your hair curly or straight. You can't lose. Plus my hair is very sensitive to product,and not a strand of hair came out during the process or after!

I have two bi-racial daughters who have very thick, coarse hair - on the scale, it's at 4A - the most unmanageable hair there is. My older daughter's hair is in terrible shape from chemical relaxers, and I didn't want to continue using chemical relaxers on her hair or my younger daughter's hair.  I researched for days looking for a product that would help soften the curl and make their hair more manageable.  I came across the Treasured Locks site, and after some further research, decided to try the Baka Beauty Natural-laxer,and the Sahara Clay to see if I could not only soften the curl in their hair, but possibly condition it also.  Well, on my younger daughter's hair, I applied according to directions (once a week for the first 3 weeks), and there is a very noticeable difference in her new growth!  I can press it out, and it is shiny and strong! I've only done 2 applications on my older daughter's hair, but we both can already see the difference in her new growth.  Both my daughters' hair is becoming softer, shinier, and I can tell starting to recover from the damage created by the chemical relaxers! The product, Baka Beauty Natural Laxer, is wonderful! For years, as a biracial American (Korean and Black), I have often envied my mothers family for their straight hair,and my fathers family for their ease, ability, and convenience with Ethnic haircare. Being stuck between these worlds also made it difficult to go to Salons - I was turned away for being both of Asian descent and African American descent. But not anymore. I've been using the Natural-Laxer system for about 5 months and I am extremely pleased with the results.  I decided to start growing out my natural hair back in December 2004.  A friend and I happened upon the Treasured Locks website and were eager to try the products mentioned.
 
I opted for the Baka Beauty Natural-Laxer Plus system because I have a lot of pre-mature gray hair.  Admittedly, it was a bit of a chore to apply, kind of like combing mud through your hair and rinsing it out.  The texture-enhancing results were subtle at first,though I did notice that my hair's texture at the nape and front edges had a more defined curl pattern.  I would describe the system as more of a texture-enhancing, deep conditioning treatment, rather than"relaxer".  The greatest thing about the product is that there was a significant reduction in hair breakage right away.  That was enough to convince me to continue using the system.  With subsequent applications, I noticed that my hair felt stronger and looked healthier.  I was not as cautious during comb-outs because I knew my hair could take it.  My hair is thicker and stronger and there is very little, if any breakage when I comb and brush through it.  I'm convince that my hair wouldn't be in its great condition,if it weren't for having discovered these products.
 
Later, I tried the Treasured Locks Herbal Leave-In Conditioner Spray.  It was also a help to keep my hair moisturized and ease comb-outs.  It's great for every day use as well as after shampooing.  I use the Natural-Laxer Plus about every two-weeks.  With the current length of my hair, one kit lasts two applications.  I order a new bottle of the Herbal Leave-in Conditioner about every month.  Having used these products and seeing their results, I've had the courage to cut off all of the left-over relaxed hair and I've gone completely natural. This product is phenomenal! It's so good when you find products that fulfill their promises to the consumer. The Microwave Heat Cap and the Natural-Laxer are amazing. My hair is so soft, and it feels stronger and healthier than it has in along time. I wish I had been using the Natural-Laxer during my whole transition to going natural.
