Hello Web Mountain Bike,
Marty Jones here with details on a unique beer, cycling and recycling campaign from Oskar Blues Brewery and Maverick American bikes.
Our scrappy little outfit is the first microbrewer in the US to brew and can its own beer. Our canned gonzo beers are available in CO, AZ, VA and NM, with more states to come.
Last October, we launched a serious effort to get folks to recycle cans of our trailblazing, mouth-whopping Dale's Pale Ale. The big incentive: bring us 3501 empty Dale's Pale Ale cans, we'll give you a custom Maverick American mountain bike decked out with Dale's Pale Ale graphics.
Sure, it's a lot of cans, but it yields big rewards.
The recycled cans save massive energy for the planet, and hefty bucks for the recycling cyclers. (The bike's retail value is $6000, the beer's retail value is $3500.)
CU-Boulder's nationally recognized Recycling Services office is very excited about our campaign.
Estes Park singletracker Mike LeBeau is leading the cans-for-bikes race, he's a character and a great interview.
Maverick American is the nation's most innovative mountain bike maker, Oskar Blues Brewery is the nation's first hand-canning craft brewer.
Both of our companies are making our way by using our noggins, having a ball, and spreading some serious joy around.
Think you might want to cover this beer-blessed bike story?
Take a peek at the attached releases and photos and let me know what you think.
I'll be happy to set you up with interviews with Dale Katechis, Mike LeBeau, Maverick's legendary Paul Turner, and CU-Boulder recycling guru Jack DeBell.
Thanks loads for any coverage you can do on our two-wheeled recycling drive, we sure appreciate it.
Cans rule,
Marty Jones
