The Eiffel Bookcase is part of the Wonders Collection. Each piece of furniture is named from one of the listed wonders of the world. There is a hang-tag on each piece of furniture featuring information and imagery of the namesake. Each hang-tag teaches the reader and the listener about the most fascinating and bewildering architecture and scientific phenomenon ever recorded.
Eiffel Tower This piece is named after the Eiffel Tower, a huge steel tower shaped something like the letter "A". Located in the city of Paris France, the tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel, it is 300 meters tall, and it took a team of 300 steel workers two years to build between 1887 and 1889. Ten years after its completion, plans to tear down the tower were vetoed only because of its use as a communication tool to send telegraphs and latter radio signals. Today it is one of the world's greatest architectural attractions.
