It's my pleasure to write a review for "One Thing" by Klaus Kuehn. For those that haven't heard of Klaus, he is the worship leader for the best selling Christ For The Nations CDs "Glorious" and "Overtaken". This time Klaus is going solo with a more stripped down sound than the large student band and choir that accompanied him on the Christ for the Nations releases.

In "One Thing" Klaus has utilized the main devices of modern worship for a very satisfying live experience. He sings his originals, covers some popular tunes, slips in and out of spontaneous worship songs, and settles into "selah" moments with instrumental worship. With such a variety of music, one might wonder if this CD has any cohesiveness. Most certainly it does. Klaus doesn't just dabble in these various worship disciplines for effect - he wholeheartedly flows in them and the result is deep, deep worship.

One of the most appealing aspects of this CD is that it is easy to get caught up in the worship. Naturally, when you have so much variety on one CD you would expect it to appeal to the masses, but there is still something else that makes this CD so appealing. Beyond the music and the nicely executed flow lies the heart of a worshiper. Klaus is as intense as he is intimate. He sings of desire and belonging. He is a worship leader that has laid his soul bare in worship and in doing so the listener feels invited to worship along with him, not just listen along.

"One Thing" is full of energetic fast songs, intimate slow songs, spontaneous and instrumental worship as well. It is an enjoyable CD that beckons the listener to participate. Whatever your worship "bag" is, there's probably something on this CD for you to enjoy and grow in worship.
