Together with the Rigpa Spiritual Care Programme, ZAM has released a video which depicts the following:

High on the clifftops in Southwest Ireland is a retreat centre called Dzogchen Beara. Here, under the guidance of Sogyal Rinpoche, the wisdom and compassion of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings are being brought to the West, as they are practiced and studied by the small community that lives and works here.

Jacqui, who has ALS (Motor Neuron Disease), her partner and daughter have come to Dzogchen Beara to rest, reflect and learn about the Tibetan Buddhist understanding of dying and death. Their trip coincides with a visit of Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the spiritual classic, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and they join a Spiritual Care Seminar receiving teachings from Rinpoche and advice and support from Christine Longaker.

The goal of the Spiritual Care Centre at Dzogchen Beara is to have a facility where those like Jacqui, with life threatening illness, may come for periods of rest and reflection and spiritual replenishment. Ultimately it aspires to have a place for people to come to as they end their lives. It was to help achieve this goal that Adventure Pictures offered to make this film.
